Readings Overview
Links on this site may be regularly updated after November 4, 2005.
The readings are part of the manual. They are intended
to support and extend the content in the manual and video. We are limited
to about 10 pages of supplementary reading material per module. We will have room for only some of the readings from the list below. The manual will have a 1-page bibliography for each module with suggestions for additional readings and practical resources. Whenever
possible, we have tried to select readings that offer multiple perspectives,
address a range of issues, reinforce key concepts from the video, are
academic in tone and yet still use an accessible level of English. This
is a tall order for 10 pages! To completely meet these ideal criteria,
trainers who are working with groups may need to add supplementary readings
to meet the specific needs of trainees when using the video and manual products.
Following is a list of readings and resources currently
under consideration. They are all freely available through the Web. You can download and use them for training or educational purposes at any time if you like. We can republish in the OELP Video manual articles from this list that are in the Public Domain (for more information on Public Domain, see Answers.com). ERIC Digests are examples of articles in the Public Domain. However, most other articles and resources require that we obtain copyright clearance in order to republish them in the manual. We are in the process of doing this through University of Oregon's Copyright Clearance office.
New readings may be added for each module up to the date its review release date begins. Final selections for the OELP product will be based on a combination of reviewer feedback, space availability in the manual, and copyright clearance status at the time the manual goes to print.
Key
The following abbreviations indicate the current copyright
clearance status of articles and other resources under consideration.
PD = Public Domain.
CC = Copyright Cleared (the UO Copyright office
has obtained permission and we can republish these items in the manual).
CP = Copyright Clearance Pending (the UO
Copyright office is in the process of requesting copyright
clearance on these items; we may or may not be able to use
them).
RD = Request denied for republication in the manual.
NA = Not applicable; added to this page after the manual was produced.
