Technical Overview

Each module has separate manual, readings, and video files. All files open in separate windows. In order to review the materials on this site, you will need the following.

Technical Specifications

  • Manual: MS Word.
The manual files on this review site are downloadable as MS Word documents. In the final product, they will be available in print (on paper), and as PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader) files as part of the CD and DVD media.

  • Readings: Web browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The readings on this review site are links to the original materials. You can read them online with your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Netscape), or save/print them for offline viewing. Some readings are available as PDF files and will require Adobe Acrobat Player, available for free from Adobe. A very few others are available as DOC or RTF files, which you can open with MS Word.

Note: We are in the process of acquiring copyright clearance on resources for inclusion with the final version of the manual. With the exception of materials that are already in the Public Domain (e.g. ERIC Digest along with some NWREL and NCELA publications), some readings may be subject to change pending final copyright clearance.

  • Video: Broadband connection, Web browser, Real player.
In order to view rough cuts of video files on this review site, reviewers need a broadband connection (sorry, no modem connections) plus RealPlayer, downloadable at no cost for Windows and Mac computers from Real.

Note: These rough cut video files contain basic video, narration, and text screens. In the final production process (after this review process), they will be further "polished" with such additions as music, cultural imagery, and stylized text transitions.
